Proximity to customers and optimal service are the keywords behind a brand new company in the Samson Group. From November 1, 2016, SAMSON AGROLIZE A/S will be the future exclusive distributor of SAMSON AGRO products in Denmark and is also ready to handle start-up and warranty on the machines. Six selected service partners ensure the subsequent service and spare parts for the approximately 1000 Samson machines already running in Denmark and the many that will be running in the future.
At the Samson headquarters in Viborg, Denmark, Henrik Kirketerp-Møller becomes CEO of the new SAMSON AGROLIZE A/S. Samson has been working on developing the new concept for some time. It will also include Denmark's largest used center for fertilizer-related machinery. In 2017, SAMSON AGROLIZE A/S will move into its own, newly constructed building at SAMSON AGRO A/S on Vestermarksvej in Viborg. Here, the new Samson company will have around 5000 square meters of workshop, warehouse, showroom and a large hall for used, factory refurbished machines.
"The market is developing in a direction where customers want to get closer to the manufacturer, and we at SAMSON AGRO have decided to follow this development. This means that we simply have to go to the pre-market ourselves. This will be done in close collaboration with six service partners around the country. These are some of our former dealers who will now instead become service partners and take care of the aftermarket," says SAMSON AGRO's Managing Director, Lars Henriksen.
"We have terminated our other dealers, but they can of course count on our full and loyal support also in the period until the dealer agreements are terminated. Samson has had a network of highly skilled dealers that we have every reason to thank for many years of great work," says Lars Henriksen.
He also looks forward to the new structure with great expectations.
"I'm sure it will be of great benefit to the future distribution of Samson machines, both for customers and for the factory. When developing the new products of the future, it is crucial that Samson is close to its customers to achieve the right solutions," says SAMSON AGRO Director Lars Henriksen.
The CEO of SAMSON AGROLIZE A/S, Henrik Kirketerp-Møller, makes no secret of the need to ensure that Samson remains the first choice in the future, where he anticipates ever-increasing demands on the machines.
"We will certainly face even stricter requirements for reliability, extended warranty periods and service contracts in the future. New forms of financing and full-service agreements are becoming commonplace. These are specialist tasks that we can't expect machine dealers to want to do in the future. With a relatively small number of high-tech machines, Samson needs to ensure a direct route and contact with customers. We need to adapt to the customers of the future and the market of the future if we want to remain at the forefront," says CEO Henrik Kirketerp-Møller.
The new second-hand center will play a very special role in the SAMSON AGROLIZE building in Viborg.
"We want to create a center for natural fertilizer machines with the possibility to do factory renovations. They will be used, refurbished machines that we send out for continued active service and with warranty. After all, many well-maintained machines are perfectly capable of going the extra mile, often for a number of years, as long as they receive a thorough refurbishment. No one is better at this than the factory, which has manufactured many of them and has the necessary specialist knowledge," explains Henrik Kirketerp-Møller.
"That's why we intend to collect used fertilizer-related machinery at SAMSON AGROLIZE. So no one will be in doubt about where to go when you want a well-running used machine."
When choosing service partners, it was of course also important to ensure the optimal geographical location. Each service partner around the country has at least two priority Samson specialists with their own service vehicles. This guarantees that Samson service is always close at hand, no matter where in Denmark customers live.
While the aftermarket service will be handled by the six service partners, SAMSON AGROLIZE will handle the pre-market with the sale of new and used machines, start-up and warranty obligations.
"To put it bluntly, at SAMSON AGROLIZE we sell the machines and then take care of everything that is then free for the customers. Our service partners handle the aftermarket with ongoing service and spare parts sales. Their service engineers are prioritized as Samson specialists for servicing Samson machines. And they are ready to respond even outside normal working hours," explains Henrik Kirketerp-Møller.
Samson has a very high market share in slurry trailers and manure spreaders. With the previous dealer and service system, Samson has been far removed from its customers. The new company, which will be in direct contact with the daily users of the machines, will now remedy this.
"We understand the customers' desire for proximity and to get close to the factory. Samson wants to be loyal to our customers, both when they buy and when they need service. Customers want specialist help and they want it fast. Our service simply has to be top notch. It's very much about customer focus," says SAMSON AGROLIZE Director Henrik Kirketerp-Møller.
"As a Samson customer, you should feel that you are in a safe harbor. We know that many customers want to be close to the manufacturer. It is largely contractors and large farms that buy slurry trailers and manure spreaders, and they want close contact with the manufacturer," says Henrik Kirketerp-Møller.
SAMSON AGROLIZE A/S has secured itself an optimal starting position with a large workforce right from the start. Eight employees from the Samson Group, including six directly from SAMSON AGRO A/S, will move to the new company.
"It is crucial for SAMSON AGROLIZE that we can draw on extensive experience in all positions from day one. That's why the service manager, service support, service engineers and salespeople all come from a Samson background. Everyone knows the Group, everyone knows SAMSON AGRO and everyone knows the machines," explains Henrik Kirketerp-Møller.
The director himself checked in at Samson six months ago with no less than 26 years in the agricultural trade.
In the future, six specialized service partners will handle the entire aftermarket task through SAMSON AGROLIZE A/S. Geographically, the service partners are located so that no place in the country is far away to service a Samson machine.
The service partners are well-established machinery dealers, but Samson products don't just slip in between a lot of other agricultural machinery. Each service partner has priority service engineers dedicated to Samson service.
Of course, each Samson service technician has their own service van and a large stock of spare parts to handle all general service tasks, whether it's changing wheel bearings, hoses or other repairs. SAMSON AGROLIZE and its service partners are very aware that there is no time for major and prolonged machine breakdowns during the seasons.
The on-call phone ensures that service engineers are ready to respond even outside normal working hours. All Samson service technicians are continuously updated with training to ensure optimal handling and service of Samson machines.
