SHB4

SLOW SNAKE TREE

SHB4 SERIES

The brand new boom design, SHB4, represents a pioneering approach and offers a range of innovative features that set new standards in slurry application. One of the most notable features of the SHB4 is its impressive application width, which is the largest in the range. This allows users to cover more ground in less time and increase the efficiency of their work processes.

The slurry is distributed via four vertical distributors, ensuring even and precise distribution across the field. This approach not only helps to maximize the utilization of the slurry, but also to reduce overlap and waste, resulting in a more economical and environmentally friendly use of resources.

The SHB4 30 (18-24-27-28-30) and SHB4 30 C (18-24-27-28-30) both offer a maximum working width of 30 meters and can be folded to 18 meters during transport. Ideal for spreading slurry in medium to large fields, these models offer good performance and maneuverability.

The SHB4 36 (20-24-30-36) and SHB4 36 (24-30-36) have a maximum working width of 36 meters. While one folds to 20 meters, the other folds to 24 meters during transport. Both models offer efficient slurry application on larger agricultural areas and adapt to different transportation and storage needs.

SHB4 SERIES

Features

Dual Pass Application

Dual Pass Application (DPA) allows the operator to adjust the working width so that the boom only spreads slurry on the outer six meters on each side, for example.

Then fill up by driving the remaining 18 meters on an SHB4 30 or 24 meters on an SHB4 36 boom. This increases the range per load. This can be an advantage on very hilly fields. This way of discharging the slurry also reduces the mess in the grooming tracks.

DPA also allows multiple slurry trailers to work together to achieve a high application capacity of 30 or 36 meters of working/grooming tracks. Combining one to two slurry trailers with 18 or 24 meter booms together with a slurry tanker with an SHB4 30 or 36 m boom provides extremely high capacity for large farms using 30 or 36 meter tramlines.

This allows many contractors to use just one SHB4 boom and still ensure that large amounts of slurry are applied at the right time.

Field Boundary System

When unfolding near field boundaries and roads, the Field Boundary System (FBS) offers an ideal solution that eliminates folding over the desired working width. This allows the driver to drive up to the first lane along the road or boundary to unfold the boom. This minimizes unnecessary pressure damage to plants and soil and increases the efficiency of the machine set.

FBS is standard on all SHB4 variants.

Anti-drip system

All SBX and SBX2 booms are fitted with ADS. When folded in along the sides of the slurry tanker during transportation, the hoses lie over the fender boxes, resulting in a smaller transport width.

Key Features

INCLINATION OF WINGS

The wings of the SHB4 30-meter trailing hose boom can be angled during operation. This allows for a stepless adjustment of the working width to either 27 or 28 meters, accommodating both three and four-meter systems.

Furthermore, an additional working width is achieved, providing a more flexible boom. Importantly, this is achieved without adding more moving parts to the boom, which reduces complexity and wear.

AUTOMATIC HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT

The SHB4 can be equipped with two ultrasonic sensors, one on each wing, which continuously measure the distance from the frame of the trailing hose boom to the ground surface.

This ensures that the hoses always touch the ground surface and that the slurry is distributed in narrow strips with minimal surface area, thus minimizing ammonia evaporation. The wings of the SHB4 boom are regulated independently of each other both above and below the ground level.

Damage to the boom is avoided as the automatic height adjustment always ensures that only the hoses, not the boom frame itself, touch the ground surface.

SHB4 ADS (ANTI DRIP SYSTEM)

All SHB4 booms are equipped with ADS (Anti Drip System). The new drip-stop rotates the hoses so they point upward.

When folded along the sides of the slurry tanker during transport, the hoses lie over the fender boxes, resulting in a narrower transport width.

SHB4 VERTICAL DISTRIBUTORS

All SAMSON AGRO booms are equipped with a vertical distributor with cup cutters and a stone trap for collecting foreign objects.

The stone trap is mounted on the SHB4 as standard with a hydraulic spade valve, which facilitates emptying of the distributor. The spade valves automatically open when the boom is folded together, ensuring that the distributors are always emptied before driving onto the road, thereby minimizing spillage of slurry on the road.

SLURRYMASTER 8000

Through the fully integrated control system SlurryMaster 8000, both the slurry tanker and the SHB4 boom are adjusted, monitored, and regulated down to the smallest detail.

The SlurryMaster 8000 makes the slurry tanker and boom appear as a single unit, where, for example, the discharge volume is adjusted according to the driving speed and working width.

FOUR ADVANTAGES

The slurry is distributed via four vertical SAMSON distributors. This provides quick reaction times during start/stop operations, as there are less than 400 meters of slurry hose on a SHB4 36m boom and 300 meters of slurry hose on a SHB4 30m boom.

SAMSON’s slurry distributors are known for being highly efficient with high capacity, low wear, and good lateral distribution. Each of the four distributors is equipped with its own spade valve, allowing for section control for the four sections. The control system automatically adjusts the slurry dosage to the new working width when a section is activated or deactivated. The improved section control capability reduces overlap of slurry in wedges on the fields, thereby reducing the risk of seedbed damage.
