PG II SERIES

The PG II series is primarily developed for professional users of slurry spreading equipment. In other words, users who place high demands on the machines’ capacity, efficiency, durability and reliability. But also for those where ease of use and maintenance are key. The PG II series offers many exciting new features that reach far into the future.

PG II slurry trailers have a very simple and strong construction. A suspension hitch can be purchased to withstand the forces transmitted to the trailer from the tractor.

The tank is placed horizontally on two through-bridges. The tank is also equipped with two mudguards that increase stability, even when driving with a reduced load. Both provide a very strong and stable slurry tanker that can be driven faster and thus increase the amount of slurry transported per hour.

SAMSON PG II

Filling system

Ejector

The SAMSON ejector system is a unique and patented ejector-vacuum pumping system that can pump even the most demanding liquids.

The system has a performance of up to 6000 liters per minute in water at a lifting height of 1 meter. The vacuum down to -0.9 bar is only created in the ejector pipe system and not in the entire tank of the slurry tanker. This keeps the weight of the slurry tanker to a minimum and ensures a fast vacuum reaction time and thus a quick start-up of filling.

The system contains no mechanical pump elements, which minimizes maintenance costs.

The SAMSON ejector system uses a small amount of slurry that is retained in the reservoir at the front of the slurry tanker. The slurry in the reservoir helps ensure good weight transfer to the tractor. If the ejector is not used, the restraint can be disengaged and the total volume of the slurry tanker is used during operation.

Pump tower

The pump tower is telescopic with two extensions and end-mounted filling pump. Two movable joints provide great flexibility and make the pump tower very easy and quick to operate.

There is the option of an optional work light and camera, which contributes to better visibility and relieves the operator for good ergonomics during operation.

In addition, the pump tower can be equipped with automatic return functionality to ensure fast and accurate parking after filling.

Pump tower and ejector

The most flexible solution where the robust ejector pump is combined with the pump tower.

Control system

SlurryMaster 8000

The system is an easy-to-operate system with an intuitive and clear user interface that ensures safe operation of the slurry tanker. The system is a standalone system developed solely to operate a slurry tanker, and therefore no compromises have been made in terms of choosing a standard platform to fit many different machines. The system is an extension of the well-known SlurryMaster 6000 control system.

All viewing/setting is done on a high-resolution 10″ color touchscreen. A lot of focus has been placed on the driver having to press a minimal number of times to navigate around. The display is based on standard PC technology. This future-proofs the investment as it is easy to adapt the system to tomorrow’s requirements.

It is possible to have up to 10 different attachment settings. Each tool can be named and set as needed. The first time a tool is mounted, run through the setup list. This saves the setting and can be used the next time you need to use the tool. This reduces the number of settings when changing tools.

The essential functions used to operate filling systems and tools are controlled from a newly developed and ergonomically designed joystick. The surface of the joystick is coated with silicone. All buttons are backlit and provide a distinctive clicking sensation when in use. There is a resting surface for the hand and a firm grip on the buttons to ensure safe operation even when driving on uneven surfaces.

A single tap on the joystick icon at the top of the screen brings up an overview of which functions are available at that time. The system is designed so that only the functions that the machine is equipped with are displayed at any given time.

The system can accommodate up to 18 jobs and 1 season counter. During each job, data is logged that can later form the basis for invoicing the customer. Customer name, driver name, field number and so on can be entered. When the job is finished, it can be saved to a USB stick in Excel format or printed. This can be used to create a customer database or all kinds of statistics.

The system is equipped with several tools that make it very easy to service and troubleshoot. Among other things, there is an error log that makes it easier to locate periodic errors. This means your authorized technician can find the fault faster and get the machine up and running again.

PG II SERIES

Key Features

BPW WHEEL AXLE

The wheels are mounted on specially designed, sturdy BPW axles with integrated speed sensors as standard. The brakes (410×180 mm is standard) are dimensioned so that they can always comply with even the strictest legal requirements.

The large steering angle of 15 degrees on the axles, together with the compact chassis, which is only 900 mm wide, ensures an extremely maneuverable slurry tanker. It reduces field damage and tire wear on the road.

The new steering system on the axles consists of a minimum of moving parts, which provides fewer lubrication points and minimal maintenance.

LED LIGHTS, MUD FLAPS AND PTO

All PG II slurry tankers are equipped with high-reliability LED lights requiring minimal maintenance. A Walterscheid PTO shaft is also standard, known for its long service and maintenance intervals.

Additionally, there is the option to have mudguards installed to prevent the implements from being soiled by dirt from the tires.

SUSPENDED ADJUSTABLE TRACTION TRIANGLE WITH SUPPORT FOOT

As a new feature, the PG II slurry tankers are equipped with a sprung, adjustable drawbar. It absorbs shocks from both the tanker and the tractor, resulting in smoother driving. It also increases the durability of the tanker by reducing impact loads on the undercarriage.

The hitch height of the tanker can be adjusted to ensure optimal coupling between the tractor and the tanker at all times. During filling of the tanker, the sprung, adjustable drawbar can ensure that the tank remains level, allowing it to be filled completely. During emptying of the tanker, it can ensure that the front end is lowered, providing additional slope towards the unloading pump.

An integrated hydraulic support foot on the drawbar ensures easy attachment and detachment of the tanker when parked.

PG II THREE-POINT LIFT

The wagon’s implement-carrying capabilities are ensured through the three-point hitch.

The three-point hitch’s lifting capacity meets the future demands for larger and heavier implements.

Increased lifting height provides optimal clearance between the implement and the ground surface both during transport and in the field. For example, it becomes easier to enter and exit fields without the implements hitting the ground.

SAMSON’s three-point hitch is welded to the undercarriage construction itself. This eliminates the need for tightening of the hitch. It is a more stable and robust construction.

TIRE PRESSURE REGULATION

With automatic tire pressure regulation, the user can set a desired tire pressure when transitioning from one type of terrain to another. It can also be adjusted based on soil and crop type. This minimizes pressure and tread damage as much as possible.

Tire pressure regulation can be provided as a 1- or 2-circuit system with a compressor output ranging from 2,000 to 4,000 l/min.

PUSH AND PULL QUICK COUPLINGS

It is possible to purchase quick couplings for the hydraulic system of the “push and pull” type, which means that hydraulic hoses can be disconnected simply by pulling them off and pushed in with pressure. There is space for 14 outlets, which are numbered to avoid coupling errors.

The couplings are turned 45 degrees towards the ground to avoid sharp bends in the hoses.

REMOTE SUPPORT

SAMSON Remote Support ensures faster and easier support in the field and minimal downtime.

With SAMSON Remote Support, service technicians can establish immediate online contact with SAMSON slurry tankers equipped with SlurryMaster 8000 worldwide.

Direct contact without delay can also be established between the technician working on the machine locally and technical specialists at SAMSON’s headquarters in Denmark.

ISOBUS SECTION CONTROL TC-SC

The ISOBUS-compatible SAMSON Section Control (TC-SC) enables automatic section control of implements based on GPS position.

This feature ensures that overlap and overdosing of slurry are reduced, for instance in wedges. This is advantageous for both the environment and yield.

Section Control can manage four sections on SAMSON SHB4 trailing shoe booms and up to two sections on other implements.

ISOBUS VARIABLE RATE APPLICATION (TC-GEO)

With the ISOBUS functionality “Variable Rate Application,” the user is now able to allocate organic fertilizer through an automated process in collaboration with an ISOBUS compatible GPS system.

By utilizing yield maps from previous years or using NDVI vegetation index, often obtained through satellite or drone images, an assessment of the optimal fertilization strategy can easily be made. The result of this is an application map which, through the tractor’s GPS system and SAMSON control system, regulates the application quantity.

This increases yield potential due to more efficient fertilization, but also has environmental benefits by reducing local over-fertilization and allocating nutrients depending on soil as well as plant uptake potential.

SAP1-MK2

The ejector pump can be combined with several different filling solutions. One option is a single-jointed arm (SAP1-Mk2) with a suction stub.

  • This solution features a 10″ pipe
  • 8″ suction stub as standard
  • 10″ suction stub as an option
  • New pump wing on Mk2 model
  • Inspection hatch
  • Transport lock
  • SAP2-MK2

The ejector pump can be combined with several different filling solutions. One of these is a two-jointed SAP arm (SAP2) with a suction stub.

SAP2 enables the user to empty other slurry tankers or trucks carrying slurry that do not have their own unloading pump. Alternatively, the user can empty hard-to-reach slurry storages under barns or lagoons using the PG II slurry tanker.

    HYDRAULIC CONNECTION

Space has been made for a total of 14 hydraulic coupling outlets and central lubrication couplings at the rear of the slurry tanker. They are positioned on each side of the slurry tanker beneath the taillights to avoid the need to maneuver between the tanker and the implement to attach hydraulic hoses.
